Civitella del Tronto: Spanish Fortress, Arms Museum and NINA Museum Italian Guided Tour

Explore the rich heritage of Civitella del Tronto through the NINA Museum and the Spanish Fortress.

Managed by the Nina Cultural Association since 2016, the NINA Museum preserves over 3,000 pieces of decorative arts, textiles and fashion masterpieces from the late 18th century to the mid-20th century. Here you can admire rare fabrics, Murano glass accessories, historical objects, sewing machines, early washing devices, and unique treasures such as an Ushak carpet from the 16th century, the first Italian public debt certificate, and exquisite European haute-couture garments.

Since 2025, the Association also manages the impressive Spanish Fortress, one of the most important strongholds of the Kingdom of Naples. Rising above the town with its 500-meter-long defensive structure, the fortress tells the story of the last stand of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1861.

Inside, the Museum of Ancient Arms and Maps displays four rooms of weapons, uniforms, documents, boundary markers, and historic representations of Civitella, including rare pieces from the Papal, Bourbon and Savoy armies.
