Perhaps everyone also knows the majestic building dominating this square – the Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock Tower.Your experience begins at our office Get Prague Guide, Maiselova 59/5, where you will meet our assistant. From here, the 20-minute introductory talk begins as you walk together towards Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock.During this short walk, our assistant will introduce you to the fascinating history of the Old Town Hall and the famous Astronomical Clock. Let’s delve together into the interesting and mysterious stories connected with these historic places. You will learn about the importance of the Old Town Hall in the history of the Czech lands and how it gradually developed into its present form.You will also hear about the different parts of the Astronomical Clock and the famous Old Town legend about its construction. Every hour, two small trapdoors open and twelve apostles appear, each telling their own story. The clock also shows planetary motion, the zodiac, and many other fascinating details — and about 75% of its parts are original from the 15th century.The introduction finishes in front of the Astronomical Clock, where you can continue exploring Old Town Square on your own.
