Full description

Get picked up at your accommodation, then depart toward the interior of the island. Make your first stop at Mrs. Luisa's house. There, learn to cook and savor cuscuz (a traditional cake made from corn flour) and fidjós (fried banana mixed with wheat), the typical breakfast for Cape Verdean families. Next, visit the town of Assomada, where, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, you’ll explore the bustling local market, full of fresh fruits, vegetables, and vibrant colors.

Move on to the Serra Malagueta Natural Park and marvel at the incredible views from 1000 meters (3,280 feet) above sea level.Afterward, head to the island’s most beautiful beach – Tarrafal. Swim in the crystal-clear waters, relax under the palms, and enjoy a delicious lunch by the shore.

On the return journey, follow the stunning east coast, stopping for photos at the volcanic cliffs of Calheta and the Valley of a Thousand Palms in Santa Cruz. Your day ends with a drop-off back at your accommodation.

Itinerary

Hotel pick-up in Praia. Get picked up at your accommodation in Praia, then depart toward the interior of the island. 

Workshop with a local family. Make your first stop at Mrs. Luisa's house. There, learn to cook and savor cuscuz (a traditional cake made from corn flour) and fidjós (fried banana mixed with wheat), the typical breakfast for Cape Verdean families.

Assomada: Explore its famous local Market. After the workshop, head to the city of Assomada and visit its famous market (Wednesdays and Saturdays only). Meet the locals and admire the vibrant colors of the local fruits and vegetables.

Serra Malagueta Natural Park: Photo stop. Move on to the Serra Malagueta Natural Park and marvel at the incredible views from 1000 meters (3,280 feet) above sea level. 

Tarrafal: Swim at Santiago's most beautiful beach. Swim at Santiago's most beautiful beach, Tarrafal, surrounded by white sand, hills and palm trees. After that, take a break for a delicious lunch in a local atmosphere. Take a break for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

Praia: Hotel drop-off. Get dropped off at your accommodation in Praia.
