Full description
Then we will take a walk through El Zoco, also known as the Craft Market, it is one of the most characteristic places of the Andalusian city of Córdoba, where local crafts are promoted. It is framed within the historic center of Córdoba, declared a World Heritage Site. In the same area we will take a look at the Cordoba Synagogue, built between 1314 and 1315, it served as a temple until the conclusive Jewish expulsion.
We will finish the tour with a visit to Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, this is a military building in the city of Córdoba, located on one side of the Guadalquivir river.
Itinerary
The tour begins in the spectacular Mosque-Cathedral, symbol of Córdoba, here we will learn more about the caliphate of Abd al-Rahman I in the 8th century. You will marvel at the richness of the mihrab, observe the Cathedral built after the Christian conquest.
The visit to the Jewish Quarter continues, there will be talks about its history and the origin of this city and of the Sephardic Jews in the Plaza del Cardenal Salazar
We will go to the greatest example of Mudejar art, the Chapel of San Bartolomé.
This is a place dedicated to the manufacture and sale of Cordoba handicrafts, its patio is made like the famous Patios de Córdoba (World Heritage declared by UNESCO).
We will walk along Calle Judíos, we will know the Synagogue, this is a place of worship for the Cordovan people and one of the three best preserved synagogues in Spain.
As the last part of the tour it will be in the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, it was an old palace and fortress from the s. XIV also a great scene of events of great importance such as the visit of Christopher Columbus. We will also see Roman elements there, such as the mosaics and the sarcophagus, and, of course, its spectacular gardens. End of the tour, space to have lunch and have a free afternoon knowing more about this incredible city.
