A gyrocopter sits somewhere between a light aircraft and a helicopter, and flying one over Dubai is an unusually open and unusually quiet way to see the coast. You lift off from the Palm drop zone and climb to around 1,500 feet - low enough that the city keeps its detail rather than flattening into a map. The route takes in Dubai Marina, Ain Dubai on Bluewaters Island, the full sweep of Palm Jumeirah with Atlantis at its head, the World Islands scattered offshore, and the Burj Al Arab standing alone on its own artificial island. Your pilot flies the aircraft and talks you through what you are seeing as it passes. The flight runs about twenty minutes in the air. This is a genuine aviation experience rather than a fairground ride, and the age, weight and clothing requirements reflect that - read them before you book.

Itinerary

Gyrocopter flight from Skydive Dubai, Palm drop zone. Check in at the Palm drop zone on Al Seyahi Street, present ID and take the pre-flight briefing with your pilot. You then lift off in an open gyrocopter and climb to around 1,500 feet, low enough that the city keeps its detail. The route runs over Dubai Marina, Ain Dubai on Bluewaters, the fronds of Palm Jumeirah with Atlantis at the head, the World Islands offshore and the Burj Al Arab. About twenty minutes in the air.
