Full description

An introductory scuba dive on the Fujairah coast, on the Gulf of Oman side of the country, where the water is clearer and the reefs are healthier than anything on the Dubai side. No certification and no previous experience are needed: a professional certified instructor takes you through a briefing on the surface - breathing through the regulator, equalising your ears, clearing your mask, and the hand signals you will use - and then stays with you throughout the dive, controlling depth and buoyancy so you can concentrate on looking. The reefs here hold soft and hard corals, clownfish, parrotfish, moray eels and turtles, with rays and reef sharks seen regularly. All scuba equipment is provided. Bring swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes. You should not dive if you have a heart or respiratory condition, ear or sinus problems, or are pregnant, and you must not fly within 18 hours of diving - plan this away from your departure day.

Itinerary

Shore dive at Snoopy Island, Al Aqah. Meet your certified instructor at Sandy Beach Dive Centre, on the beach at Sandy Beach Hotel & Resort in Al Aqah, directly opposite Snoopy Island. This side of the country faces the Gulf of Oman, which gives clearer water and healthier coral than anything on the Dubai coast. Scuba equipment is provided in full. After a briefing and shallow-water practice you walk in from the beach and dive with the instructor alongside you, over the rocky reef that rings Snoopy Island - soft and hard corals, clownfish, parrotfish, moray eels and turtles, with rays seen regularly. No certification is needed. Allow about three hours on site.

The dive runs from Sandy Beach Dive Centre at Sandy Beach Hotel & Resort, Al Aqah, on the Fujairah coast, directly opposite Snoopy Island - this is a shore dive, so you walk in from the beach.Al Aqah is on the east coast, roughly a 1 hour 45 minute to 2 hour drive from Dubai. Travel to Fujairah is not included unless your booking says otherwise, so allow the drive in each direction and treat this as a full day.Allow about three hours on site.The minimum age is 18. No certification or previous experience is needed.Bring swimwear, a towel and a change of clothes. Reef shoes or sandals you can walk into the water in are worth having - the entry is over rock and shingle rather than sand.Do not fly within 18 hours of diving - do not book this for your departure day.Tell us in advance of any medical condition, including asthma, heart, ear or sinus problems.Not suitable for anyone pregnant.
