Our 'Singing Grind' is our signature—where we process coffee using traditional mortars and pestles while singing and dancing to local chants. Located on the verdant edge of Kilimanjaro National Park, our farm offers a 100% organic, hand-crafted experience that uses wood-fire roasting to create a flavor profile you simply cannot find in modern cafes.

Itinerary

Arrival & Warm Welcome at Chagga Coffee Farm. Guests arrive at the organic coffee farm in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will be welcomed by our expert guides and given a brief overview of the farm’s history and our commitment to organic farming.

Guided Coffee Farm Walk & Harvest Experience. Walk through the lush coffee plantations. Depending on the season, guests can participate in picking the ripe red coffee cherries. Learn how we identify the best beans for high-quality organic coffee.

Traditional Coffee Processing (Local Methods). Experience the traditional method of removing the husks from the beans. We will explain the natural drying process that ensures the coffee retains its unique flavor.

Roasting & Grinding Ceremony with Locals. Experience the traditional roasting process over an open fire. Under the guidance of our "Coffee Priest," you will learn how to manually grind the roasted beans using a large wooden mortar and pestle while enjoying local songs and chants.

Coffee Tasting Experience (Farm-to-Cup Moment). The tour concludes with a fresh cup of the organic coffee you helped prepare. Enjoy the rich, aromatic flavors while overlooking the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
