Because your guests are transitioning from freezing mountain altitudes to warm safari savannas, clear advice on packing in layers and managing luggage is crucial.Packing & Preparation GuideSince this itinerary combines a high-altitude mountain climb with a savanna safari, smart layering is key to staying comfortable without overpacking!Highly Recommended & "Nice to Have"Multiple Thermal Layers: At Kibo Hut and Uhuru Peak, temperatures drop well below freezing (-5°C to -15°C / 23°F to 5°F). Heavy thermal base layers, a fleece, and a windproof down jacket are essential for summit night, while lighter layers work best for safari mornings.Swimwear: After 5 days of dusty mountain trails, guests love relaxing in the swimming pool at the safari lodge on Day 6!High-SPF Sunscreen & Lip Balm: At high altitudes, UV intensity is severe. High-protection sunscreen, UV sunglasses, and moisturizing lip balm with SPF are essential.Trekking Poles: Highly recommended for saving knees on the long, steep scree descent from Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut.Headlamp (with Extra Batteries): Crucial for the midnight summit push and navigating mountain huts at night.Buff / Gaiter / Bandana: Excellent for keeping dust out of lungs on both the dry mountain trails and open-window safari game drives.
