The 3D Selfie Museum Dubai turns the visitor into the subject. Over 30 hand-painted scenes are built on forced perspective, so a flat wall becomes a cliff edge, a corridor becomes a chasm, and you end up standing inside the artwork rather than looking at it from the side. Each scene has a marked spot on the floor and a suggested camera angle, because the illusion only resolves through a lens - stand somewhere else and the effect disappears. That makes it a museum you photograph rather than one you read, and it is deliberately hands-on: touching the work, climbing into it and posing are all encouraged. Allow around an hour, more if you are travelling in a group and everyone wants their own shot at each scene. The whole venue is indoors and air-conditioned, so it works as an option on days when the heat rules out anything outside. Bring a phone or camera with free storage, and ideally a second person to take the pictures. Tickets are emailed ahead of your visit.

The venue is indoors and air-conditioned, but the scenes are spread over two floors and there is no lift. Wheelchair users, and anyone who cannot manage stairs, can see the ground floor only; staff will help where they can.Bring a phone or camera with charge and free storage - the illusions only work through a lens, so without a camera there is very little to see.A second person to take the photographs makes a substantial difference; solo visitors should ask staff, who are used to it.Allow around two hours to work through the nine zones without rushing.Marked positions on the floor show where to stand for each scene; follow them, as stepping outside the mark breaks the effect.You are encouraged to touch and climb into the artwork, but remove sharp jewellery and heavy bags first, as the scenes are hand-painted and mark easily.Comfortable clothes you can move in are better than anything restrictive.
