Full description

Our destination is a small family-owned husky kennel called Lapland Wild Witch in Tepasto (30 km north of Levi, about 30 min drive from Levi center). Home to over 42 well-cared-for dogs - including Siberian and Arctic-Alaskan huskies as well as 3 reindeer dogs - the kennel is a peaceful place where the animals live a happy, healthy, and active life.

During your visit, you’ll enjoy plenty of quality time with the dogs. There is a special free-run area where the huskies can move freely and interact with guests. You’re warmly invited to enter, cuddle, pet, and take photos with the dogs in this relaxed, natural environment. We'll also walk around the kennel to meet other members of the pack.

A guide will introduce you to the daily life and care of sled dogs and answer any questions you may have about the animals and their routines.

After the tour, you’ll step inside a traditional Lappish hut (kota) to warm up by the open fire. There, you can enjoy hot berry juice and cookies, relax, and take in the cozy Arctic atmosphere.

The kennel is run by dedicated professional sport dog mushers who work closely with their dogs year-round. Their team includes Arctic-Alaskan huskies, a breed developed in early 20th-century Alaska specifically for racing during the Gold Rush era.

Don’t forget

Child age: 2-11 yearsPlease take off your gloves/mittens when touching the huskies. They love to play with gloves and might break it easily. Do not be afraid of dogs, as they are genetically friendly to people. Do not feed the dogs. We strongly recommend wearing warm winter clothing. It can be rented separately before the departure from the Safarimarket office in Levi center at extra charge. If you want to rent the clothing, please be at least 20 min before pick up time to get dressed.

Cancellation policy

10% charge if cancelled within 8760 hours of start. 50% charge if cancelled within 504 hours of start. 100% charge if cancelled within 168 hours of start.
