Don’t forget

This is a multi-destination tour covering Tunisia from north to south; some days include long transfers (4–6 hours), especially when traveling to Tozeur and the Sahara. Several sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and involve walking on uneven ground, cobblestones, or desert terrain – a moderate fitness level is recommended. Appropriate modest dress (covering shoulders and knees) is required when visiting mosques, medinas, and religious sites. The Sahara Desert camp is basic but authentic; facilities may be more rustic compared to city hotels. Weather varies by region: cooler in the north, hot and dry in the desert – packing layers is essential. Some visits (Star Wars sets, camel rides, cooking class) are experience-based and may be weather-dependent. Tunisia’s official languages are Arabic and French; English is spoken in tourist areas but not everywhere. Travelers should carry local currency (Tunisian Dinar) as credit cards are not always accepted in small towns and markets. Comfortable walking shoes (for medinas, ruins, and desert terrain) Lightweight, breathable clothing for hot days, plus warmer layers for cooler evenings in the desert Modest attire (long sleeves, scarves/shawls, and trousers/skirts below the knee) for visiting mosques and religious sites Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen Light rain jacket or travel umbrella (occasional showers in the north) Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated Small backpack/daypack for daily essentials Camera or smartphone for photos (plus extra batteries/power bank, especially for desert camp where charging may be limited) Personal toiletries and any medication (pharmacies may not stock all brands) Travel documents: passport, visa (if required), travel insurance Local currency (Tunisian Dinar) and/or credit card (note: cash is preferred in small towns and markets)
