Full description

You will take an exciting 3-hour bike tour in which we will take you to discover the hinterland of Lake Garda: on safe roads and cycle paths, landscapes in the countryside between vineyards and olive trees, we will pass the villages of Calmasino and Cavaion, from where you can enjoy incredible views of Lake Garda. We will visit the Austrian forts on the hills from the outside, to return to the starting point, where a pleasant tasting of local wines and quality food awaits us.

Itinerary

Forte Benedek. This Austrian fort was completed in 1861. It enjoys a splendid view of the lake and is now part of a relais, a location for events and for wine tasting. After the tour we will stop here for a pleasant aperitif.

Pastrengo. Pastrengo is a small town on the hills over Lake Garda: it is known for the Battle of Pastrengo which was fought between the Piedmontese and Austrian armies on 30 April 1848, in the course of the First Italian War of Independence. For this reason, we will find on the path some Austrian fort, in one of which we will stop for the wine tasting.

Calmasino. Calmasino is a small town near Bardolino, we will cycle through the vineyards and the countryside, through dirt roads and suggestive views. In this area you will admire unique and typical green landscapes of our land.

Lazise. Lazise is a town on the coast of Lake Garda: we will see this town from the inland with bikes. In 983, the Holy Roman Emperor Otto I granted Lazise the right to fortify itself and establish trading rights. It is considered as the first and oldest comune in Italy, and perhaps all of Europe.
