Guided Canoeing Tour with a Special Picnic in Vila Nova de Milfontes, Portugal
We invite you on an individual tour in Alentejo! Bring a picnic and enjoy the magnificent views of turquoise waters and bright reefs! The current of the Rio Mira changes every six hours, so we always travel according to the tide and wind. At Milfontes Harbor Bay, we take advantage of the rising tide to swim inland. The wind helps too, so no sport just relaxation!
Departure: daily.
Includes: instructor/guide, picnic, canoe with equipment, hotel pick-up, and drop-off. A minimum of 2 people.
Please note: the tour schedule changes daily; please check your options before making a reservation.
At low tide, we will show you sandbanks and salt marshes with crabs, mussels, and seabirds. We will undoubtedly run into fishermen waiting for a big catch as the water level rises. After about two hours, we will take a break and enjoy a picnic in the secret valley. We will visit a family who lives here and has created an almost tropical paradise in their garden. Our road will lead us to a waterfall with a water mill that was recently restored. After arriving at the abandoned river port of Casa Branca, we will head back, and on the way back, we will recharge our energy with a real tasca, the main food of the farmers in the most remote areas of the Alentejo.
