Departing from the heart of the Lido, we pass through the first traditional fishing village of Câmara de Lobos. Our drive continues to Cabo Girão, the second highest sea cliff in the world and the highest sea cliff in Europe, which is a viewing point with spectacular panoramic scenery. Next, we make our way to Ribeira Brava and head north, up through the deep and narrow valleys of the luxuriant and verdant Serra D'Água. Then we will reach Encumeada, a special place at the top of the valley, where you will witness an incredible view of our beautiful island's south and north coasts. After enjoying this nature's bliss, we will make our way to São Vicente, one of Madeira's most important villages on the northern coast.
Our next stop is at the charming little village of Porto Moniz, where you will have approximately 1 hour for lunch and time to admire the fantastic volcanic swimming pools. Historically isolated from Madeira, this region specialized in whaling (this practice ended in the 1980s). Now it offers much more nature-friendly activities, such as bathing in lava pools or enjoying local cuisine and fresh seafood. On our way back, we travel to Madeira's highest plateau, Paul da Serra, which has one of the world's most significant natural park reserves with spectacular panoramas.
