The tour is divided into two parts: first, you will visit the Meradalir volcano, and then you will see the Northern Lights. We will do a moderate hike to get to the volcanic eruption site. Our expert guide will be with you to ensure your safety throughout the tour. On this tour, you will see the erupting volcano Meradalir above the newly formed land. During the volcano's last eruption in 2021, on March 19, lava flowed from the volcano's cone into the valley, slowly filling it. When a new blast occurred on August 3, 2022, fresh lava flowed down the newly formed lava field. An unforgettable experience!

For the second part of the tour, we will observe the aurora borealis (northern lights). We are guided by the best cloud and aurora forecast to optimize your chances of seeing the aurora dance in the night sky. Due to its proximity to the Arctic Circle and the magnetic pole, the aurora activity in Iceland is one of the most intense in the Northern Hemisphere.
