The current city of Demre was once called Mira and has a thousand-year history. For centuries, peoples have lived here and left numerous historical traces of their culture. One of the most important Christian saints served, died and was buried in this city St. Nicholas the Saint, Bishop of Myra (Myra is a city, Lycia is a country). You will be able to explore the culture of burial of the Lycians who lived on this territory 2500 years ago. They carved rocks to create tombs of an incredible beauty, which have been preserved to this day. On the engraved facade, scenes from the lives of the consumed tell us about their lives and achievements. Next to them is the GrecoRoman amphitheater, which once housed about 15 thousand spectators. Theatrical performances, performances of Emperors, gladiatorial fights and pilgrimage sermons of Bishops took place here. Lunch and then cruise on a boat with visit to Kekova Island. There you will have a stop to swim.
15:30 - departure from the property.
