Glacier Encounter, Iceland

Experience walking on a Falljökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull. This is a short easy hike to the largest glacier in Iceland. We will start with a short drive from our meeting point to Falljökull glacier, which is a neighbouring outlet glacier descending from the vast Vatnajökull ice cap.

After a quick walk to the edge of the glacier you will learn to put on crampons and have a small safety briefing. With an ice axe in hand we will then embark for an hour on a guided excursion of the glacier.

Your guide will be pointing out some of the fascinating features of the ice whilst on the hike and teaching you about some of the local geography and history.

Please note: Age limit: 8 years +. Bring hiking shoes with ankle support, outdoor clothing according to weather, hat, gloves and sunglasses if sunny.
