The ancient Mayan city of Cobá was once a metropolis of the northeastern Yucatán. The city was built around a series of small lakes. There are five main architectural groups distributed around the lakes connected by an impressive network of ancient white roads. The temple known as Nohoch Mul is 42m tall and provides an inspiring view over the jungle. After the visit to Cobá, you will go to Nuevo Durango, a Mayan village where you have lunch in the house of a Mayan family. You will meet Don Manuel and his lovely family to experience the living Mayan culture, and taste the traditional food.
Then, you will go to the Punta Laguna nature reserve. Admire impressive lagoons, a cenote with crystal water, and a semi-deciduous jungle. There is extraordinary biodiversity of flora (over 300 species) and fauna (potential habitat for over 300 species of birds and many other species with a special protection status such as the jaguar, puma, ocelot, white-tailed deer, red-brocket deer and many more).
