Theopetra cave. We will visit a unique cave the oldest known artificial structure. . Early prehistoric settlers continuously utilised the cave for more than 130,000 years!

HOLY MONASTERY OF GREAT METEORON the biggest and the most famous.

Varlaam Monastery. The monastery with best views.

Holy Monastery of Saint Stephen. Visiting the Nunnery of St. Stephen was one of the highlights of my trip to Meteora. Among all the monasteries perched atop the towering rock formations, this one is by far the most accessible. It’s perfect for anyone with mobility concerns

Not wheelchair accessible Not stroller accessible Not suitable for pets Infants must not sit on laps Infant seats unavailable To enter monasteries of Meteora, all men are required to wear long pants, while sleeveless t-shirts or sleeveless shirts are strictly forbidden! For ladies’ long skirts are needed while shoulders must be covered at all times. All Meteora monasteries at the entrances do provide skirts and scarves for ladies to cover themselves. They don’t provide clothing for men though. Be aware that men who show up at the entrance of monasteries with very short pants or sleeveless shirts will be denied access!
