Itinerario
Meeting point: Castel Sant'Angelo. Meet your guide at the left corner of Ponte Sant'Angelo, facing the castle. Your private tour leader will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name. This is a wonderful place to kick off your culinary experience, perhaps after visiting this historical site or the nearby Vatican Museums.
The cobblestone medieval alleys. Follow your tour leader through the ancient alleys, once large enough for horse carts and today a tranquil promenade environment with numerous squares, the gathering places for Romans and tourists. Each one has a church, except one, learn which and why!
Supplì. The supplì is a traditional Roman rice croquette, simmered in a rich tomato or other sauces, breaded, and with a core of melted mozzarella. it is a rich appetizer!
Panino con la Porchetta. Porchetta with Italian bread sandwich. The porchetta is a seasoned, tender, slow-roasted boneless pork roast served with wine or soda. Vegetarians will savour a gourmet sandwich.
Navona Square. You will pass by Piazza Navona, the huge square with Bernini's fountain of the four rivers. To reach it, you will have the chance to hear the history of the Roman talking statues; You will meet Pasquino, the only statue allowed to talk nowadays.
Cheese tasting at Campo De' Fiori Ancient Market
Pizza. You will stop at a renowned "pizza al taglio" for thin, well-cooked, square slices of pizza, the typical Roman way.
Ponte Sisto. This bridge connects Rome to Trastevere, the heart of medieval Rome, and provides beautiful views of the Tiber River and St. Peter's dome. The first square you will encounter is Piazza Trilussa, a vibrant location where musicians and other artists draw both Romans and tourists. Trilussa, a beloved poet from the 1800s, holds a special place in the hearts of the Romans.
Trastevere. The heart of Trastevere is Santa Maria in Trastevere Square, dominated by a splendid church dedicated to the Virgin Mary
Maritozzo. Difficult to describe its savour. We leave the words to your fantasy. Unmissable simply because it is the favourite Roman pastry, and you can find it only in Rome.
Gelato. If you can have ice cream anywhere in the world, the best is in Italy. Here, people prefer those made with guaranteed-fresh fruit and high-quality ingredients, and this is the one you will taste! This marks the end of the tour, but your discoveries don’t have to stop here. Your private tour guide will recommend exploring more of Trastevere, such as visiting the Church of Santa Maria or the Church of Santa Cecilia, or simply wandering around this charming neighborhood.
