On this 1-day excursion we offer you to explore the rich culture of Demre - Myra - Kekova. Ancient cities, ancient churches, thousand-year-old burials, places of pilgrimage and the turquoise coast will open before your eyes. The current city of Demre was once called Mira and has a thousand-year history. For centuries, peoples have lived here and left numerous historical traces of their culture. One of the most important Christian saints served, died and was buried in this city St. Nicholas the Saint, Bishop of Myra (Myra is a city, Lycia is a country). You will be able to explore the culture of burial of the Lycians who lived on this territory 2500 years ago. They carved rocks to create tombs of incredible beauty, which have been preserved to this day. On the engraved facade, scenes from the lives of the consumed tell us about their lives and achievements. Next to them is the Greco-Roman amphitheater, which once housed about 15 thousand spectators. Theatrical performances, performances of Emperors, gladiatorial fights and pilgrimage sermons of Bishops took place here. The end of your excursion will be a yacht trip, sailing from the port of Andriake. This port is of great importance in the history of the life of St. Nicholas the Saint, it was here that numerous scenes from his life took place. Walk by the sea and near the sunken Kekova Island and take in magnificent views. You will see sunken amphorae, Lycian sarcophagus, and a fortress.
