The Top Sports in Peyia, Cyprus 2026: GetExperience

There is one active programme in Peyia, but it asks more of the rider than it looks from the outside. A quad bike is not a fairground ride on a fixed track: on the climb to the Baths of Adonis there is gravel under the wheels, the gradient is noticeable in places, and grip changes from turn to turn. Steering is not hard, but the arms tire over two hours, and the next day it is felt in the shoulders.

The rules are simple and not up for discussion. Helmets go on everyone, the passenger included. The column follows the instructor at one pace and must not overtake: on loose surface a sharp manoeuvre ends in a skid. Brake early rather than in the bend, and keep your distance — stones fly from under the machine ahead. Anyone taking the wheel for the first time is given a short lap on the yard before setting off.

Practical notes. The driver needs a category B licence, the passenger none. The age limit is usually eighteen to drive and six to ride along. Clothing must be closed, legs included: on a quad nothing shields them. People with back or neck trouble and pregnant travellers are advised against it — the shaking is real. In summer departures come before the heat, and water is a must.
