Nice & enjoyable Bordeaux Wine Tour to explore the charming (wine) neighbourhood of Chartrons with our in-house sommelier and a 30min professional wine & cheese tasting.

This Bordeaux Wine Tour is designed by our Sommelier. He will take you on a stroll through the UNESCO wine merchant streets, many of which are 300 years old buildings. 

We will walk for almost 1.5 hours to discover the neighbourhood of the  Chartrons while learning about the grape varieties in Bordeaux,  the important wine regions, the 1855 classification, how to read a label like a professional, the important names of tge Chateaux (wine estate) in Bordeaux, the historical monuments of the district and much more! 


At the  end of the tour we will put all the theoretical knowledge into practical  “learning by tasting”. 

We will have a professional Wine Tasting of 4 Organic Wines paired with assorted cheese platter in a nice wine bar.

Starting Point of the Wine Tour: Old Wine Merchant streets. We start our tour in the heart of Chartrons also known as Old Wine Merchant street. Situated on the "Port de la lune" (the french name for Port of Moon) also a pet name of Bordeaux dating back from the 17th Century. Today they are all World Unesco heritage.

Admire the Cité du Vin - Wine Museum from outside. The biggest world wine exposition Museum. Here you will learn about the wine regions and grape variety while admiring the beauty of the 21st century Museum from outside.

Wine in the 21th Century. You will be surprised to know the amazing technology used behind to create this awesome looking bridge. Here we will learn about new technologies used in making wines.

Le pont de pierre and its kings. This is one of the oldest bridges, it was constructed for Napoleon Bonaparte, dating back to the early 19 century. We will learn the connection of wine with kings.

Where did Wine Merchants live and how?. We will see a "Maisons Jumelles" twin house in English. Once lived by a foreign wine merchant. The importance of foreigners in the Bordeaux wine trade.

One of the most iconic churches in Bordeaux: Saint Louis de Chartrons. One of the most iconic churches in Bordeaux. You will see the beauty of the church and learn the history behind it.

The chartons neighorhood - one of the most picturesque places in Bordeaux. We will have time to stroll around the narrow cobble stone streets of the Chartrons Neighborhood with its typical wine merchant houses until we reach the wine bar to do the tasting there.
