Full-day Traditional Big 5 Safari in South Africa, Cape Town

This full-day tour will take you to Aquila Private Game Reserve that is set in the pristine southern Karoo highlands, and you will go on safari and observe the Big Five game animals, including African bush elephant, black rhinoceros, lion, leopard and Cape buffalo. Originally used by big-game hunters, the term Big Five refers to the 5 animals in Africa that are most difficult to track on foot. The Aquila Private Game Reserve is located about 2 hours drive from Cape Town.

Please note: the duration of game drive and departure times are approximate and will depend on the interaction of the guests with the ranger and the sighting of animals. The price for the transfer from Cape Town is from R1095. Transport can only be booked before 3pm for the following day arrival. Pick up times for day trip transport are between 06h00 and 07h00am. Pick up zone: Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town CBD, Constantia or Bellville. All foreign guests are required to carry their passports.

The Reserve owner, Searl Derman, is known for his extensive knowledge of Cape Town and African wildlife. He felt the need for an affordable, authentic safari that would be accessible to locals and tourists alike and opened the Aquila Private Game Reserve in 2001, naming it after Aquila Verreauxii, the rare black eagle. The reserve is a four-star malaria-free nature reserve that became one of the most notable attractions in Cape Town. On the tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide, have some welcome drinks upon your arrival, as well as continental breakfast and South African style buffet lunch. As you will be whisked off in a comfortable vehicle for a game viewing experience, you will witness a great diversity of wildlife and natural Karoo beauty, as well as get the opportunity to capture stunning wildlife photos and make African memories to last a lifetime.
