Carpets have been central to Armenian culture since ancient times, and carpet weaving practiced in the land for thousands of years. In keeping with this rich heritage, the Megerian family has been restoring old carpets and producing new ones for more than four generations.

Initially, the factory was founded in 1917 in New York by the Armenian family fleeing the genocide. They returned to Armenia only recently and are raising the traditional carpet production of the Armenian carpet, which is one of the oldest in the world and has its own distinctive features. In the showroom, you will be shown the copies of the oldest carpet in the world (the original is in the Hermitage). You will also see original carpets that are 200-400 years old, each with its unique history.

Later on you can pass to the main part which is Lavash baking masterclass. Lavash is one of the most popular gastronomic icons of Armenia, serving as an integral part of the Armenian cuisine. It is a traditional soft, thin flatbread, made in tonir (special ground oven).
