Tierra del Fuego National Park is the southernmost protected area in Argentina, where nature is displayed at its finest. From its coastal shores to rugged mountains, the park is a haven for biodiversity, hosting both terrestrial and marine species. In addition to its remarkable wildlife, such as the red fox of Tierra del Fuego, the park is home to a variety of birds, including the giant woodpecker and the Patagonian thrush. Throughout the year, the park offers a unique opportunity to explore its subantarctic forest, allowing visitors to connect with nature in its purest form.

Itinerary

Pipo River. Our journey through Tierra del Fuego National Park begins with a stop at the Pipo River. This river, which flows through the Fuegian Andes, is known for its crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush vegetation. It's the perfect spot to pause and appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for taking photos and breathing in the fresh southern air.

Mount Susana. Next, we head to Mount Susana, a panoramic point that offers breathtaking views of the Fuegian landscape. From here, the vastness of the park unfolds before us, with mountains blanketed by subantarctic forests. This is one of the best spots to take in the expansive scenery and beauty of the area.

Lago Acigami (Lake Escondido). We continue to Lago Acigami, also known as Lake Escondido. This serene lake is surrounded by mountains and forests, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. With its crystal-clear waters, it’s an ideal stop to reflect on the stunning environment around us.

Alacush Visitor Center. Next, we visit the Alacush Visitor Center, where we’ll learn more about the flora, fauna, and geography of Tierra del Fuego National Park. This is the perfect place to gain further insight into the park’s diverse ecosystems, from the red fox of Tierra del Fuego to the iconic cauquén caranca, the park’s symbol.

Laguna Verde. We then proceed to Laguna Verde, a beautiful body of water renowned for its green hues and tranquil atmosphere. Surrounded by lush vegetation, it’s a perfect place for a walk, depending on weather conditions. This peaceful spot invites us to pause and enjoy the serenity of the landscape.

Bahía Lapataia. Finally, we arrive at Bahía Lapataia, the end point of the famous Pan-American Highway. This place holds special significance as it marks the southernmost point of the highway, which stretches from the northern tip of the Americas. At Bahía Lapataia, we’ll be treated to spectacular coastal views of the Beagle Channel, where the ocean meets the land. This is the perfect place to capture unique photos surrounded by the magnificent maritime landscape.
