Itinerary

Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Vatican Museums overflow with masterpieces by many of Italy’s most important Italian artists, sitting alongside important works from Ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt. You will walk through famous galleries such as tapestries and maps. You will learn the secrets of The Sistine Chapel, with its enormous Michelangelo’s frescoes. Here you will have time to observe the details of his sublime “Last Judgment”.

St Peter's Basilica. Your guide will bring you directly from the Sistine Chapel into St. Peter's Basilica's courtyard. Your guide will optimize your time by explaining all the features outside. You can take pictures (without a flash) in a peaceful atmosphere while the guide waits outside for you. It is the world's largest Church to admire Michelangelo's "Pietà" and other highlights. Just before ending your tour of the Vatican, you will enjoy the curved colonnades of St. Peter’s Square before a brief sighting of the Pope’s Balcony. Remember to cover knees and shoulders before entering the Sistine Chapel and the St. Peter’s Basilica.

Colosseum (from outside). The Colosseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre, is a famous elliptical structure in the heart of Rome. Built by the Flavian dynasty in the 1st century AD, it was the largest amphitheatre, seating up to 80,000 spectators. It hosted gladiatorial contests and public spectacles, symbolizing Roman engineering and power.

Circus Maximum and Palatine. The Circus Maximus, situated between the Palatine and Aventine Hills, was ancient Rome's largest stadium, capable of holding over 150,000 spectators—some estimates suggest up to 250,000. Primarily a chariot-racing arena, it also hosted public games, religious festivals, and gladiator contests.

Trevi Fountain. Hidden down the narrow backstreets of the city, Trevi Fountain is a secretive masterpiece, and perhaps the most spectacular fountain in Rome. Built at the end of one of the famed aqueducts that supplied the Roman Empire with water, this iconic setting attracts many visitors. Toss a coin into its waters to ensure a safe return to Rome at some stage in the future.

Spanish Steps. You will proceed to the Spanish Steps, one of the biggest tourist spots in the city. As you stand and admire the Church of Trinità dei Monti, which sits at the top of a famous stairwell with the Fontana Della Barcaccia at its foot, you will wonder how they were ever able to complete it.
