Itinerary

BERAT (UNESCO) - From Tirana. Visit to the castle, Onufri Museum and several churches and mosques. Onufri was an Albanian master painter of the 16th. Many of his wonderfully painted icons still remain in the museum while others can be found in churches in Albania and Greece where he worked. In the downtown we visit the Leaden Mosque, the King's Mosque, the Bachelor's Mosque and the Alveti Tekke, and the old Bridge of Gorica.

Berat is one of the most historically significant and continuously inhabited regions in Albania, with a rich heritage spanning over 2,400 years. Recognized with special status by UNESCO, Berat is renowned as Albania's second museum town and is often referred to as 'the city of a thousand windows' due to its distinctive architectural style, featuring houses with numerous windows stacked closely together. The itinerary includes a visit to the impressive Berat Castle, the renowned Onufri Museum, and several historic churches and mosques. Onufri, a celebrated 16th-century Albanian painter, is known for his masterfully painted icons, many of which are preserved in the museum, while others are displayed in churches throughout Albania and Greece. In the city center, guests will have the opportunity to explore notable landmarks such as the Leaden Mosque, the King's Mosque, the Bachelor's Mosque, the Alveti Tekke, and the historic Gorica Bridge. The tour also includes a lunch break, allowing visitors to experience the local cuisine.
