Full-day Traditional Big 5 Safari from Cape Town, South Africa

This full-day tour will take you to Aquila Private Game Reserve that is set in the pristine southern Karoo highlands, and you will go on safari and observe the Big Five game animals, including African bush elephant, black rhinoceros, lion, leopard and Cape buffalo. Originally used by big-game hunters, the term Big Five refers to the 5 animals in Africa that are most difficult to track on foot. Set against a backdrop of dramatic mountains, Aquila Private Game Reserve will introduce you to these majestic animals. The Reserve owner, Searl Derman, is known for his extensive knowledge of Cape Town and African wildlife. He felt the need for an affordable, authentic safari that would be accessible to locals and tourists alike and opened the Aquila Private Game Reserve in 2001, naming it after Aquila Verreauxii, the rare black eagle. The reserve is a four-star malaria-free nature reserve that became one of the most notable attractions in Cape Town. On the tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide, have some welcome drinks upon your arrival, as well as continental breakfast and South African style buffet lunch. As you will be whisked off in a comfortable vehicle for a game viewing experience, you will witness a great diversity of wildlife and natural Karoo beauty, as well as get the opportunity to capture stunning wildlife photos and make African memories to last a lifetime.

6.45AM. You will depart from Cape Town to Aquila.

9AM. Welcome drinks will be served upon your arrival.

9.15AM. You will have continental breakfast.

10.15AM. For 2-3 hours, you will go on the traditional Big 5 game drive.

12.45PM. South African style buffet lunch will be served. Then, you will have afternoon leisure time to enjoy the Karoo surroundings and other optional extra activities.

4PM. You will depart from Aquila and return to Cape Town.

Please note that the duration of game drive and departure times are approximate and will depend on the interaction of the guests with the ranger and the sighting of animals.

Cancellation policy: 100% cancellation fee will be charged if booking is cancelled 7 days or less prior to the event or in case of no-show. 50% cancellation fee will be charged if booking is cancelled 8-21 days prior to the event. 30% cancellation fee will be charged if booking is cancelled 22-30 days prior to the event.
