Full description

The boat leaves at six in the morning, before the heat and while the fish are still feeding, and heads out past the breakwater into the open Gulf. Four hours of fishing follow, with a skipper who knows where the sailfish, kingfish, queenfish and barracuda are running at that time of year.

Rods, reels, bait and tackle are all aboard, and the crew will bait a hook and land a fish for anyone who has never done this before. Refreshments are served on board. Whether you take your catch home or hand it back is up to you.

The yacht is 33 feet and takes up to eight guests, and the charter is private: you book the whole boat, not a seat on it, so the price is the same whether two of you go or eight. It is a good half-day for a family or a group of friends, and the Dubai skyline on the way back is worth the early start on its own.

Itinerary

Boarding at six in the morning. The charter leaves at six, before the heat and while the fish are still feeding. Make your own way to the boat - confirm the departure marina and berth with your booking. Rods, reels, bait and tackle are already aboard.

Out past the breakwater into the open Gulf. The 33-foot yacht clears the breakwater and heads offshore into the Arabian Gulf. How far out you go depends on where the skipper expects the fish to be running that week.

Four hours of fishing. Sailfish, kingfish, queenfish and barracuda are the usual targets, depending on the season. The crew will bait a hook and land a fish for anyone who has never done this before, and refreshments are served on board. Whether you take your catch home or hand it back is up to you.

Back in with the skyline ahead. The run back in puts the Dubai skyline in front of you for the whole approach, which is worth the early start on its own. You are ashore around ten in the morning, with the rest of the day still ahead.
