Come with us to visit the Shinto Itsukushima-jinja Shrine for half a day!

We will leave Osaka or Kyoto to visit Miyajima Island, famous for its Shinto shrine Itsukushima and for its torii, emblematic shinto gate inside the sea. Let’s feel together the calm and serenity of the place, with its free-ranging Shika deer and abundant surrounding nature.

Itinerary

Osaka or Kyoto Station. We meet in Shin-Osaka Station. It is the occasion for the guide to explain you all about the Kansai region, then all about Hiroshima and Miyajima, where we are going. From the train, the guide will show you all the cities and landscapes we pass through.

Hiroshima. The Inland Sea of Seto separates three of Japan's four main islands: Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. We can see and admire it throughout our journey.

Arrival to Miyajima Island. The Miyajima Omotesando shopping street welcomes us and we can walk there, and why not try some delights or buy souvenirs.

Itsukushima Shrine. We walk to the torii of the sanctuary if it is low tide. If it is high tide, we admire it up close in its natural element, the Sea of Seto.

Omoto Park. We walk in the Omoto park. This is the best opportunity for us to meet free-ranging and wild shika deer to interact with them.

Miyajima Torii Gate. The island of Miyajima and its Shinto shrine Itsukushima is famous throughout the world especially for its portal, the large torii positioned on the sea. We visit this shrine and learn about the history and religion of Japan.
