In the Middle Ages, San Gimignano was famous for producing saffron. During the tasting, you will discover this unique spice's flavors and exquisite aromas, immersing yourself in the authentic Tuscan atmosphere right on top of the Vernaccia vineyard with a breathtaking view of the medieval towers of the San Gimignano.
Your unique wine and oil Evo-tasting experience with a saffron lunch will begin with a tour of the Vernaccia vineyard, one of the oldest in San Gimignano. The saffron lunch consists of four courses: an appetizer with bruschetta and crostini with saffron, organic pasta with saffron and vegetables, local cheese, and cold cuts from Casa Porciatti or a saffron egg. Finally, for dessert, you will enjoy a delicious homemade cake. This option also comes with at least four organic and biodynamic wines from Podere La Marronaia, like Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi, as well as six kinds of natural and flavored extra virgin olive oil.
A member of the winemaker's family will be with you the entire time, from visiting the vineyard and cellar to tasting the wines and extra virgin olive oil, so that you can relax in the company of a knowledgeable professional!
