The first stop on the journey is Murano, which is famous all over the world for its glass production business. It has a long and illustrious history in Venice. After all, it is a form of artistic expression. What kind of glass is Murano? Only the island of Murano is capable of producing this type of glassware. Because of the employment of various materials, the drink takes on a whole new look, resulting in visually arresting and evocative effects. Make a detour to go to one glass factory, where you can watch a local artist create a one-of-a-kind glass item right in front of you while you admire the demonstration, and then take some time to enjoy the beautiful island.

The second stop is on the scenic island of Burano, which is known not only for its lace production but also for its colorful fishermen's huts. The town's now-iconic range of bright colors was planned from the start. The original residents of this area were fishermen, and they painted their homes bright colors for two reasons: first, to identify their property from that of their neighbors, and second, so that they could see their dwellings from the water. Get lost in the colorful streets and sample the delectable local "Bussolai" sweets.

The island of Torcello, known as the first center of civilization in the estuary, is the final but certainly not the least stop on the journey. Torcello is known for its peaceful atmosphere and low population density. On this island, you can find some of the oldest churches in the lagoon, and you will also learn how Venice got its start. Use an audio commentary and a digital map to explore the history and mythology of the three islands on your own, and take some breathtaking photographs of Venice and its lagoon in the process. On the way back from the islands, you will sail through the lagoon and enjoy the beautiful St. Mark's Basin from the water.
