The Horn separates the Rest of Istanbul with the old town and the historic center where Constantinople was founded, surrounded by ancient city walls. You will make a stop at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate Church with stunning iconostasis and holy relics of the Church of Constantinople, including the sacred relics of two renowned Archbishops. Then in Balat, the neighborhood that was historically inhabited by the Jewish community, it will be time to stroll through the narrow and colorful streets and encounter the traditional street life that still exists in this part of town. See women gathering for tea on their patios and men playing cards in coffee shops here. Time to walk around Fener the quarter midway up, among the historic wooden mansions, churches and synagogues from the Byzantine. Next step is Ayvansaray. The neighborhood got its name from Persian, which translates as Veranda Palace. It used to be one of the most important areas of Constantinople and features a Byzantine palace complex, the Palace of Blachernae, once used by the late Byzantine emperors.
