Here is the itinerary of the tour as follows during the our activities:
- 6:20 a.m. Pick up from your hotel to the meeting point.
- 7:30 a.m. Departure from the meeting point to La Cañita.

- 10:30 a.m. We reached the peak of the excursion: we began to see the humpback whales that have chosen our waters for mating. You will have the opportunity to listen to their beautiful song very close to our boat.
- 12:00 p.m. We go to the port of Bahía de Samaná from where we will head to our ranch in the mountains. We will stop to see the typical Dominican house to see the elaboration process that follows the coffee, chocolate, mama Juana and typical cigars.
- Once we arrive at the ranch, we will ride a horse to go to our next destination: Limon Waterfall, a waterfall more than 40 meters high, where we can take a refreshing bath for 30 minutes.
- After this bath, we head back to the ranch on our horse and get on the safari truck to go to the buffet where we will have typical Dominican food for lunch.
- After having lunch, we board our catamaran and head to Cayo Levantado where we will be for an hour and a half. You will have free time to enjoy all the charms of the island and its beach. Explore its jungle, relax under its palm trees and enjoy its flora and fauna.

Samaná Whale Watching, Cayo Levantado, and Limón Waterfall Tour
Few things to do in Punta Cana come close to watching humpback whales surface meters from your catamaran in Samaná Bay. This full-day Dominican adventure starts with hotel pickup at 6:20 AM and moves through an itinerary that honestly feels like three excursions packed into one. After a light breakfast at La Cañita, the catamaran heads toward the Humpback Whale Sanctuary near Bacardí Island, where every January to March, hundreds of whales gather for mating season in the Caribbean waters. A horseback ride to Limón Waterfall, a 40-meter cascade with a natural swimming pool, follows. Then Cayo Levantado delivers the beach finish, with white sand, snorkeling, and palm shade before the return trip to Punta Cana hotels.

More Facts About This Experience
Cayo Levantado, known globally as Bacardí Island, earned its nickname after featuring in a famous Bacardí rum advertising campaign in the 1970s, a show of Caribbean luxury that made the island internationally recognizable. Samaná Bay's humpback whale congregation is one of the largest in the North Atlantic, with scientists estimating 1,500 to 2,000 whales visiting annually. The Dominican Republic's north coast also appeared in the Pirates of the Caribbean production series, with several Caribbean coastal scenes drawing visual inspiration from landscapes identical to those seen on this tour.
Best Activities to Add in Punta Cana
After a day as full as this one, the best Punta Cana activities for the following days lean toward the sea. An underwater scooter experience along the cana coral reefs lets you explore marine life at a relaxed pace without needing scuba certification, genuinely one of the most unique water sports excursions available. Parasailing above the Dominican coastline delivers panoramic views that rival anything seen from land. For something quieter, a private deep-sea fishing charter puts you far offshore, chasing marlin and mahi-mahi on the open Caribbean, the perfect contrast to group adventure tours.
Who Should Book This Tour
Nature lovers, active couples, and families with older children will find this adventure experience deeply rewarding. Friend groups looking for best-value full-day Dominican Republic excursions get exceptional variety here. Anyone visiting Punta Cana who wants a genuine show of the island's wildlife, landscape, and local culture beyond the resort beach will feel this tour delivers exactly that.
