Before continuing to the Kirkjufell waterfalls, where you can take in breathtaking views of Mount Kirkjufell, your trip will begin with a stop at the Berserkjahraun lava fields.
Your next destination is the black basalt beach of Djúpalónssandur, where you can see the basalt cliffs and pinnacles of Lóndrangar and find fish and bird fossils. After that, you'll get to witness the 700.000-year-old subglacial Snæfellsjökull volcano, which is visible from Reykjavík on a clear day and is a magnificently constructed ice volcano.
The fishing town of Arnarstapi, which grew over time to become a major shipping port, will be your final destination of the day. Here, you will discover the origins of the Icelandic legend of Bárður, the half-ogre, half-man.
