We will continue our journey stopping at the winery, where you will have a chance to taste Commandaria and Zivania among other local wines.
Next, we will hold a course to the top of the Troodos Mountains and visit Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery. The monastery of Chrysoroyatissa is situated in a picturesque location near the village of Panagia, just west of the forest of Paphos. The monastery was founded in 1152 AD by the monk Ignatius, who found the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary in the Mulia district of Paphos. The miraculous icon is believed to have been painted by the Evangelist Loukas.
Then we will drive through the mountain villages of Pedoulas and Prodromos and go to the top of Mount, where we will visit the Tomb of Archbishop Makarios, the first president of Cyprus.
We will then visit the islands richest and most famous monastery, Kikkos Monastery. Here one of the miraculous icons of the Virgin Mary is kept, which is said to have been painted by St Lucas during her lifetime.
On the way back to Paphos we will visit the Birthplace of APHRODITE this is one of the most stunning places on the coast of Cyprus, where, and for a good reason, Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam. It is believed that bathing in these waters prolongs youth and beauty we will have the opportunity to make sure of this ourselves.
