Entertainment in Phu Quoc

6 experiences Vietnam

Entertainment on Phu Quoc means built attractions at the two ends of the island, not a nightlife strip. In the north, VinWonders has indoor and outdoor rides and a daily water show, and Vinpearl Safari is a wildlife park crossed by vehicle, with the visitors enclosed and the animals roaming. In the south, Hon Thom has the cable car, 7,899.9 m long and opened in 2018, then Aquatopia, an eight-hectare water park opened in December 2019 with more than 20 rides. After dark the choice narrows to squid fishing from a boat; by day there is also sea walking from a floating platform.

The simplest format is a ticket with a private transfer: an air-conditioned car from hotels in Duong Dong or Ong Lang, a ticket for VinWonders, for the Safari or for both, and six to eight hours depending on the choice. No guide is included, so the day is yours to pace. The Hon Thom day is a shared boat trip with snorkelling, then the water park and a one-way cable car back to the mainland. The squid cruise runs about four hours from 17:00 and includes dinner on board. On the northern day trip, guests can ask to be dropped at Grand World, the entertainment complex in the north, and pay the entrance themselves.

Practical. Bring swimwear and a towel for Aquatopia, and sunscreen for queues; highs are 30 to 32C and can reach 35C in April and May. Thunderstorms arrive in the afternoon in the wet season, so go to the parks in the morning. Pick-up outside Duong Dong and Ong Lang costs extra. Free cancellation usually ends 24 hours before the start.
