Moroccans believe that blue is the color of infinity, escape and the protection from the evil eye. All shades of blue exist in Morocco, from the sea and the sky to the rock of Tafraroute. The red color comes in numerous shades, from landscapes of canyons resembling the Far West to the hollows of wadis. The most beautiful cedar forests in the country and the palm groves that stretch along fertile valleys and oases represent the shades of green. Then, the white color is given by the intense sunlight that floods the landscape. Ocher is the color of a medina, the land of the south and the powerful mountain ranges that form the different chains of the Atlas and Marrakesh.
Day 1. Marrakesh - Tarroudant, 260 km. On the first day, you will be headed towards Toubkal. The road will take you into the valleys that are still forgotten and bordered by beautiful mountains. You will cross the Toubkal National Park, the last refuge for mouflons. The highlight of the day will be the climb of the Tizi n'Test pass to the height of 2,200 meters. After you marvel at the breathtaking view and have a meal on site, you will descend into the valley that leads to Tarroudant. It was the stage city and a setting for the film ‘Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves’, and its wall and massive wooden doors will welcome you on your first evening in a four-star Art Deco-style inn.
Day 2. Tarroudant - Tata, 173 km. It will be a memorable day, since you will learn about the track, following the route of the legendary Dakar rallies. You will ride past the acacias, dried up wadi and Anti-Atlas passes. You will be treated with beautiful panoramas at the altitude of 1,700 meters, and you will cross an oasis, surrounded by green paradise. The track also leads to an old gold mine of the Grand Canyon. As the beautiful night falls, you will have a meal at a five-star bivouac guest house.
Day 3. Tata - Tafraoute, 201 km road and 60% track. After a good breakfast in a bucolic setting, you will head in the direction of Tafraoute and its famous multicolored rocks. You will also take a small detour to the Aguinane oasis. After your arrival at the hotel, you will have a chance to hang out with a cold beer to rest after a busy day.
Day 4. Tafraoute - Mirleft, 150 km track and road. You will ride in the direction of the ocean to the Atlantic shoreline and its dune fields. Once you get to the beach, you will have some snacks at the Eagle's Nest, sitting at its panoramic terrace that is nestled on the side of a cliff and facing the ocean. You will come all the way down to put your suitcases in a luxury eco-lodge and dip your feet in the water. In the evening, you will be served baked fish for dinner, as well as enjoy a campfire and aperitifs.
Day 5. Mirleft - Immouzer, 203 km. Continuing on the trail, you will leave the touristic Agadir to climb the High Atlas massif. There, you will visit one of the most beautiful caves in Morocco: Win Timdiouine. The twists and turns of this circuit will make you forget the legendary turns of the Dadès Gorges. Later, you will head to Immouzer village and the Immouzer waterfall, spending the night in a hotel and enjoying a candlelight dinner on a terrace.
Day 6. Immouzer - Essaouira, 190 km. After leaving the mountains of Immouzer, you will set to the blue of the ocean and to the endemic argan forest. You might even encounter some camels and squirrels along the road. In a secluded cove, a fishing village will be a perfect place to have lunch. On the menu, there will be good grilled sardines or whiting, depending on the catch of the day, and a delicious Moroccan salad. You will arrive at the city of Mogador at the beginning of the afternoon and perceive the cultural, historical and gastronomical richness of the city. If you prefer active leisure, you can surf there. For history lovers, the city is full of significant, interesting sites to visit.
Day 7. Essaouira - Marrakesh, 280 km. You will take secondary roads and the national road leading from Essaouira to Marrakesh in the setting of a Far West film, surrounded by ocher landscapes. You will arrive at a hotel where you can enjoy the infrastructure, dipping in the hammam spa pool, or visit Koutoubia. A goodbye meal will conclude the tour, as you will review the photos from the trip and have a well-deserved aperitif.
