Enjoy a private day trip from Barcelona to Montserrat and Codorníu Cava Cellars, combining mountain heritage with Catalonia’s iconic sparkling wine tradition. Be picked up from your hotel and travel comfortably by car with your private local guide to the historic Codorníu cellars. Explore this Art Nouveau landmark on a guided underground train ride through vast galleries, finishing with a tasting of two different cavas led by a wine expert. Continue to Montserrat, home to dramatic mountain landscapes and the renowned Montserrat Abbey. Visit the Basilica, see La Moreneta with skip-the-line tickets, and enjoy panoramic viewpoints on a gentle walk toward the Cross of Sant Miquel. This well-organized private tour balances culture, scenery, and tasting at a relaxed pace.

Itinerary

Pick up guest hotel. The guide will pick you up at the door of your hotel in Barcelona, to be confirmed before the day starts.

Penedes by car. Enjoy the landscapes during the trip as you head straight to the Penedès Valley, approximately one hour away by private transport 

Cavas Codorniu. Discover one of Spain’s most historic cava cellars. Ride a small underground train through vast galleries while learning how cava is produced. Taste two different cavas and admire the elegant Art Nouveau architecture that defines this iconic winery.

Montserrat. Your guide will take you to Montserrat in private transport approximately an hour drive away. Enjoy the landscapes that surround Catalunya while your local guide tells you all about the magical mountain and its Benedictine Monastery. Take a short hike to one of the most beautiful panoramic spots in the area, the Creu de Sant Miquel Viewpoint.

Monastery and the Black Madonna. Enter the Monastery with your Skip the line tickets, to admire the famous virgin of the Moreneta.

Children's Choir. Experience the magic of the Montserrat Boys’ Choir. Let the pure and powerful melodies elevate your visit to this spiritual site, as the voices of one of Europe’s oldest children’s choirs resonate through the basilica.Please note: attendance is subject to availability and must be requested in advance directly to your guide.

Local Farmers Market. Taste cheeses, hams and a lot of regional products of Catalonia. Talk to local farmers. Learn how they produce them.

Abadia de Montserrat. Have the best views of the Montserrat Monastery Benedictine and its spectacular architecture.

Return to Barcelona. The guide will drive back to Barcelona where you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
