Ushuaia, Navigation Beagle Channel and Isla de Lobos - Half day, Argentina

Departure from Ushuaia Tourist Pier. Your maritime adventure begins at the Tourist Pier in Ushuaia, where you’ll board a modern vessel to explore the legendary Beagle Channel. As the boat sails away from the shore, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Ushuaia’s waterfront. Notable landmarks include the old prison (now the Maritime Museum), the End of the World Museum, and the industrial district. In the background, the dramatic silhouettes of Mount Olivia and the Five Brothers (Cinco Hermanos) add to the stunning scenery.

Sea Lions Island (Isla de los Lobos). Cruising southwest, we approach Isla de los Lobos, a natural habitat for colonies of South American sea lions. From the deck of the boat, you’ll have fantastic photo opportunities as these fascinating creatures lounge on the rocks and interact in their wild, coastal environment.

Birds Island (Isla de los Pájaros). Next, we continue to Isla de los Pájaros, a vital nesting ground for several species of seabirds. Here, you can observe Magellanic and Imperial cormorants in large colonies, as well as occasional sightings of skuas, petrels, and other native birds. This portion of the tour is a birdwatcher's dream and a unique opportunity to witness Patagonia’s rich avifauna.

Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Sailing onward, we reach the iconic Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, often referred to as "the Lighthouse at the End of the World" (though the real one is further east). This picturesque, red-and-white structure stands on a rocky islet in the Les Eclaireurs archipelago and marks the entrance to Ushuaia’s bay. Nearby lie the submerged remains of the German ship Monte Cervantes, which sank in 1930.

Return via Paso Chico. On our return journey, we pass through Paso Chico, a narrow passage flanked by breathtaking landscapes. From here, you’ll see the historic Estancia Túnel and Estancia Fique, both reminders of Tierra del Fuego’s pioneer history. The approach to Ushuaia is framed by the snowcapped Martial Mountain Range and its glacier—an unforgettable final view to conclude this memorable navigation.
