Your first stop will be at Master Levon's Dungeon, also known as the Underground Palace and one of Yerevan's most exciting attractions. What's so unique about Lavon's dungeon? When you hear the word "dungeon," you probably imagine anything but multi-level catacombs looking more like the Dark Souls setting than the usual tour locations which Levon dug almost single-handedly! The tour will be led by Levon's wife and daughter, who helped him haul the sand and dig his underground passages. Master Levon's miracle is located in Arinj, in the northern part of Yerevan. There's a belief that a particular area in the dungeon known as the "Place of Dreams" can grant anything you desire so be ready to make a wish!
Next, you will visit the magnificent Cascade Monument, an open-air museum. Its construction began in 1924, designed by the legendary architect Alexander Tamanyan. According to his plan, the Monument was supposed to connect the city's north with the center.
Then, your guide will take you to an unforgettable cooking master class on making the world-famous Armenian lavash. Since ancient times, this thin flatbread has been seen as one of the most important symbols of Armenia. In 2014, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will hear stories and interesting facts about Armenian lavash and have the opportunity to cook it in a traditional tandoor in a charming, cozy restaurant with a fantastic chef. Following the master class, you will visit the Church of Saint Sarkis (1842). In Armenia, Saint Sarkis is considered the patron saint of lovers. During the Byzantine Empire, he was a warrior, commander, and monk who built many churches and held many weddings with the emperor's permission. Armenia celebrates St. Sarkis Day, its version of Valentine's Day, at the beginning of February. According to tradition, on this day, unmarried girls eat salty cakes at night and do not drink water to see their future husbands while sleeping.
