Full description

You get to see how different life is in the villages of the valleys and what a truly beautiful country Morocco is. Begin your small-group day trip with apickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad, and board your air-conditioned 4x4. Hear about Morocco’s rural way of life as you drive into the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Admire the snow-tipped peaks as you head further into the spectacular range, and after roughly an hour, arrive at the Ourika Valley. 

The Plateau du Kik is situated over Asni, he dominates the dam of Lalla Takerkoust Lake. 

The combination of these three valleys brings you into secluded fertile valleys where daily life of the indigenous Berber inhabitant moves wih time honoured traditions. 

Itinerary

Pick‑Up. Your adventure begins with a hotel or riad pickup in Marrakech at 9:00 am. Drive out of the plains and into the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, passing olive groves and small villages along the way.

Douar Asni. Arrive in the market village of Douar Asni, located at an altitude of 1,800 m. On Saturdays, you can visit the lively weekly Berber market. From here, enjoy spectacular views of the snow‑capped High Atlas peaks in winter.

Sidi Fares. Continue to Sidi Fares, a collection of Berber villages irrigated by mountain springs below Mount Oukaimeden. Here you will discover authentic Berber lifestyle and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa.

Weekly Souks (Optional). Depending on the day of your excursion, you may visit the weekly souk in Tahanaout (Tuesday) or Asni (Saturday). These traditional markets are vibrant with local produce, crafts, and mountain life.

Berber House Visit. Experience true hospitality with a visit to a typical Berber house. Learn about local traditions and enjoy mint tea while discovering the daily life of mountain families.

Return. In the late afternoon, begin the drive back to Marrakech via the tarred road, arriving at your hotel with unforgettable memories of the High Atlas valleys.
