Full description

The Ourika Valley is much more than a tourist location since it houses a number of plant species and the rare Barbary Macaques… The High Atlas walking excursion is great for those who want to see the beautiful splendour of the High Atlas Mountains without trekking to the summit. The trek begins at Setti Fatma where tourists walk for an hour until they are in the heart of the Ourika Valley. At this juncture there are waterfalls, which provide a resplendent place to take pictures. A family that lives in the valley often opens their home to visitors who wish to enjoy their surroundings. Ourika's atmosphere and unique decor is sure to impress ! 

Itinerary

Pick‑Up. Your day begins with a hotel pickup in Marrakech at 9:00 am. Travel comfortably through the scenic countryside toward the High Atlas Mountains.

Scenic Drive & Berber Villages. On the way, admire the landscapes dotted with olive groves and traditional Berber villages. The road follows the Ourika River, which flows down from the High Atlas into Marrakech.

Setti Fatma & Waterfalls. Arrive at Setti Fatma, the starting point of your trek. Enjoy a one‑hour walk into the heart of the valley, where you’ll discover beautiful waterfalls — the perfect spot for photos and relaxation.

Berber House Visit. Experience authentic hospitality with a visit to a typical Berber house. Learn about local traditions and enjoy mint tea while discovering the daily life of mountain families.

Weekly Berber Souk (Optional). If your excursion falls on a Monday, you can visit the lively weekly Berber souk, where locals gather to trade goods and socialize.

Wildlife & Nature. Keep an eye out for the rare Barbary Macaques and explore the valley’s rich plant species. The atmosphere and unique decor of Ourika make it a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Return. In the late afternoon, depart the valley and travel back to Marrakech, arriving around 5:00 pm after a full day of discovery.
