Full description

Come with us to visit Mount Ikoma for a day on foot and by public transport. The culture, history and natural beauty of Japan will be there for your great pleasure!

We begin our visit to the Shinto Shrine Ishikiri Tsurugiya, a 2,700-year-old sacred site rich in history. Then we explore Ishikiri Sando, the busy shopping street popular with locals and celebrities.

We then proceed to Mount Ikoma. We visit Monzenmachi, a charming area leading to Hozanji Temple. We discover this ancient temple of the 12th century, dedicated to Ganesh.

We finish with Ikoma Skyland, an amusement park with breathtaking views of Osaka Bay and Nara’s bowl. These views are particularly magical at sunset.

Itinerary

Ishikiri Tsurugiya shrine. This sanctuary dates back 2700 years and dates from the semi-legendary and historical origins of Japan. The opportunity to learn more about this country!

Ishikiri Sando shopping street. Shopping street nearby to the sanctuary, very popular with Japanese people, Japanese celebrities like to stop there. The opportunity for us to walk around and / or shop there.

Ikoma cable car. Ikoma cable is so cute it is already an attraction on itself. You will love it! We ride it to access the mountain.

Monzenmachi District. Stairs made district up on the city and leading to Hozanji temple. We visit the temple then take a lunch break there.

Hozanji Temple. Hozanji is dedicated to Ganesh, or Kangiten, God of joy and prosperity. This temple is unique with Shishikaku and its 4 seasons windows. When we look far, we can see Buddha in the mountain protecting us.

Skyland Ikoma. Ikoma Sanjo amusement park is entrance free but you shall pay for all ridden attractions. Its view to Osaka bay is famous and even better the evening, with the illuminated city. This park is very popular amongst the youngsters and the couples.
