Guided full - day tour of Fez, the oldest of Morocco's Imperial cities. Fez was founded shortly after the Arab invasion of North Africa and Spain and soon became the religious and cultural center of the country. This city was formed under the influence of two cultures — Muslim Spain and the Arab East.

Old Fez takes you to the heart of Moroccan culture, where people in djellabs walk along narrow streets, and donkeys are still the main means of transportation.

Let's start with a trip to the mosaic factory, a master class with pottery, viewpoints, acquaintance with the city from its old Medina — the largest medieval Muslim city in the world. Our route will pass through the streets and bazaars of the old city, ancient caravanserais and artisans' workshops, a mosque and the Karaouin University, founded in the IX century. and being the oldest in the world, the mausoleum of Mulai Idris II is the most revered tomb in the city (non—Muslims are not allowed to enter), the madrasah of Bu Inania is the pearl of Merinid architecture, richly decorated with mosaics, carvings and stucco; Nejarin Square with a mosaic fountain; the elegant Attarin Madrasah; and, of course, the famous tanneries of Fez, where you can watch the process of making leather using medieval technologies. We will continue the tour with an introduction to the New City of Fez and a walk through the Jewish quarter of Mella. Once it housed the largest Jewish community in Morocco, and now it is almost in ruins. Here you can see houses typical of Jewish neighborhoods with balconies facing the street, an old synagogue and a cemetery. We will continue our journey and admire the beautiful golden gates of the Royal Palace (entrance to the palace itself is prohibited), and then climb the hill with the graves of the Merinid dynasty, which offers an impressive panoramic view of the old city.
