Nature And Outdoors in Alanya

19 expériences Antalya District

Outdoor trips from Alanya lead into the Taurus range, which comes close enough to the coast that a mountain river sits under an hour from the beach. The most booked route is Sapadere Canyon, roughly forty kilometres inland: a wooden walkway runs along the gorge floor past small rapids and pools that stay near twelve degrees all summer, ending at a cave and a village lunch of gözleme. Closer to town the Dim river carries restaurants built on platforms over the current, and the cave beside it runs about four hundred metres into the hillside.

A second group of trips heads for the Green Canyon on the Oymapınar reservoir and the Manavgat river. The water sits still between wooded slopes, boats move slowly and stop for swimming, and the return usually takes in the Manavgat market or the waterfall. Jeep safaris work differently: a convoy of open vehicles climbs dirt tracks to villages where goats are still kept and herbs dried on the roof, and passengers throw water over each other along the way, which belongs to the format rather than to chance.

Practical notes: nearly every departure collects from the hotel and fills a full day, roughly eight in the morning to six in the evening. Canyons call for closed shoes with grip, because the rock stays wet; the rivers are cold even in August. Combined programmes that stack rafting, buggy and zipline save a day but give about an hour to each part. Routes run daily from April to October, with some closed in winter when the water rises.
