Children in Antalya

4 experiences Antalya District

The children's programme in Antalya rests on water and parks. The Dolusu water park just outside town is one of the big ones: a wave pool, slides of varying difficulty and a separate area for small children, sold as a full day with hotel transfer. The City Fun format works differently — a walk through Antalya built for mixed company, where the adult gets the old quarter and the child gets the waterfall, the cable car and a boat.

Land of Legends near Belek stands apart: the country's largest theme park, about forty minutes away. From Antalya you get there on a plain return transfer, which suits families — you can arrive at opening, leave when the children tire, and not bend to anyone else's timetable. Inside are roller coasters, a water zone and shows, and in the evening a fountain and water-projection performance.

Points to weigh when choosing. Rides carry their own height limits, worth checking before you buy so you do not discover on site that half the park is closed to your child. The water park needs a hat and sun cream: there is little shade between the slides, and skin burns faster on the water. In summer, put city walks in the morning or evening — Kaleiçi is cobbled and sloped, and pushing a buggy there in midday heat is hard work.
