Multi-Day Tours in Side

Multi-day routes out of Side are few, and the main one is Cappadocia with an overnight stay. The reason is simple: it is about seven hundred kilometres from the coast to the plateau, which does not physically fit into a single day. Departure is set for the evening or early morning, the road runs through Konya, and the first day ends already in a cave hotel among the valleys.

The second day begins before dawn — with a balloon flight, if you booked one, because the balloons rise only at sunrise and only in calm wind. Then come the valleys with churches cut into tuff, an underground city, the pottery workshops of Avanos and the viewpoints above the stone cones. The road back takes up almost the whole of the third evening.

Points to weigh when choosing. The balloon flight is sold as a separate option and cancelled on weather — the money is refunded, but the day is already spent. Cappadocia lies above a thousand metres, and mornings there are around ten degrees even in July, so a warm jacket is needed regardless of what the weather was doing on the coast. The valleys hold plenty of uneven stone; closed shoes only.
