The Central Park scavenger hunt runs on the World City Trail app: a ten-digit ticket code, GPS-led stops, optional AI narration at each one, and a finish wherever you like. Most of the rest runs through Questo, unlocked by an emailed code, with a ticket recommended per player though a single phone can be shared between a group. Brooklyn's street-art trail is the odd one out: it plays offline once downloaded. Durations run from under an hour to well over two, each about the price of a slice and a coffee.

Practical. New York swings harder between hot and cold than its reputation suggests: January highs sit around 4C with real cold spells below that, and July regularly clears 29 to 30C with humidity that makes any shade worth planning around. The Brooklyn route runs along the river below the Williamsburg Bridge, a subway ride from the Manhattan games, so budget the extra time. The ghost walk is built for after dark, while the history and art routes read better in daylight, when clues tucked into shadowed corners are easier to spot. None of these routes sell out, so a rained-out afternoon just means trying again tomorrow.
